Derbyshire Amateur Champions
Mitch Handley of Mickleover and Lindsey Shaw of Chevin triumphed in the recent Derbyshire Amateur Championships held at Chesterfield Golf Club.
Mitch held off a great field of local golfers and despite windy conditions managed to shoot 71, 72 for a one under par total. Josh Thorley of Chevin finished runner up.
Lindsey beat Francesca Bougen of Tapton Park, scoring 155 total.
Mitch added this title to the Derbyshire Matchplay Title he won last autumn at Chapel en le Frith GC.
Both golfers will be able to represent Derbyshire in the England Golf Champion of Champions events to be held at Frilford Heath and Woodhall Spa respectively.
