Lady Vice Captain Janet Thomas and Lindsey Shaw triumph at Branston
Derbyshire were delighted to bring in the winners for a third time running in the MNR Ladies 36 Hole Foursomes Competition which took place this year at Branston Golf & Country Club. Vice County Captain, Janet Thomas and Lindsey Shaw, both members of Chevin Golf Club, played a great morning round of 70.5 nett but sadly suffered slightly in the afternoon with 81.5 nett – nevertheless they were the Winners for 2019 and enjoyed the course very much. It was great to see Debs Deakin and Lesley Watson (Chevin) and Sian Mansey (Hollinwell) – Derbyshire squad players, winning prizes too. Plenty of water hazards and bunkers but the weather was sunny and we saw the course at its best with excellent greens. Thanks go to Louise from Staffordshire Union for organising the event and to the Lady Captain of Branston for the half-way house refreshments – the cakes were delicious.
