Match Report Second Team Match v Shropshire at Horsley Lodge GC

Thursday 12^th August 2021

This was our final game of the season and we were all keen to end on a winning note. The morning foursomes proved to be the winning start we needed. The pairings of Sian Mansey with Jenna Ward and Lorraine Proudler with Lucy Pearson, playing her first second team game had good wins. Our ever-reliable pair of Sandra Maxwell and Grace Harrison secured a hard-fought half point. We went into the afternoon singles games 2 ½ to a half up.

The singles games once again had a winning outcome. We were able to win 4 of the 6 afternoon games. The final match score was 6 ½ to 2 ½ to Derbyshire.

Many thanks from me to everyone who has played in any of the four matches. I have seen some great golf and we have had a fantastic team spirit. Derbyshire also has the best supporters.  I have been truly grateful to everyone who has made the effort to come and encourage the team.

My final thanks goes to Horsley Lodge GC for hosting our home matches. The course is looking at its best this year and the food has been great too.
