We played our final match against the Shropshire ladies at Chevin Golf Club and were very fortunate with yet another lovely day of sunshine.  Some great results in the morning foursomes resulting in 2 points where two of our matches were won 6/4 so a tremendous effort.

Some well fought and very strong matches in our afternoon singles saw us gain 3 ½ points – so a fantastic win for the day 5 ½ / 3 ½.  Such determination from our ladies.

The Shropshire ladies were very complimentary of the Chevin’s course which was in tip top condition and even though they had heard the obvious rumours of steep climbs and hills, they did enjoy the challenge and hospitality – so many thanks to Chevin.

A big thank you to everyone who played today and in all our matches – such a great team of ladies.  We may not be going through to the Finals this year, but we were so very close. Staffordshire will be heading to Walsall with 3 ½ points and we are proud to see Derbyshire with 2 ½ points and Shropshire 0.  Our supporters have been great too – caddying or just there to cheer us on.

My thanks also for the lovely Camelia and kind words from the team.  I have really enjoyed being County 2^nd Team Captain this year and look forward to supporting Derbyshire next year at County Week which is being held at Hinkley Golf Club Sunday 21 -Wednesday 24 June 2020.
