Working as a newly formed merged body from 1st November 2017, we need more volunteers to help us shape Golf in Derbyshire for the future.

The Job Descriptions below are how we see the role working, they are not set in stone.  We have no doubt that they will be tweaked and developed once the roles have been filled.  If you would like discuss the detail and how you can help, just get in touch - don't be put off by detail!

NORTHERN CLUBS' REPRESENTATIVE

A completely new role for the future, this role will liaise directly with Golf Clubs in their 'region' acting as the interface between Club and County.


Working closely with the England Golf CSO, whose role is to help deliver the County Action Plan and help Clubs grow their business, the Representative will help ensure that Clubs have a voice.   

He/she will report monthly to the Board with any concerns, successes and/or issues.  They will also be responsible for Marketing in the area.

This is a Volunteer Board position and the job holder will be asked to become a Director of Derbyshire County Golf Ltd.

This post will serve until the AGM in February 2020 and can stand for re-election for a further 3 years.

Northern Region may include:   Alfreton, Bakewell, Buxton & High Peak, Cavendish, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chatsworth, Chesterfield,  Glossop & District,  Hope Works, Matlock, New Mills,  Shirland, South Chesterfield, Stanedge & Tapton Park.

It is planned to elect the post holder at the November General Meeting.

Southern Region may include:  Allestree, Ashbourne, Brailsford, Breadsall Priory, Broughton Heath, Burton-on-Trent, Chevin, Derby, Erewash Valley, Ilkeston, Horsley Lodge, Kedleston, Mickleover, Morley Hayes, Ormonde Fields & Pastures

It is planned to elect the post holder at the November General Meeting.

MARKETING DIRECTOR

A new position for the future of Derbyshire, sitting on the Board the job holder will be responsible for Marketing Golf in Derbyshire.


Working closely with the County Secretary, all successes and achievements will be promoted through the media including Social Media.  News items will include Club items such as forthcoming Recruitment Drives and Job vacancies as well as County Match/Competition results.

The role will Chair a committee which includes the North and South Representatives and the England Golf Club Support Officer (CSO) to ensure communication throughout the County, and where possible assist with any support requirement identified by the CSO.

This is a Volunteer role and the job holder will be asked to become a Director of Derbyshire County Golf Ltd.

This post is to serve until the AGM in February 2019 and may stand for re-election for a further 3 years.

COUNTY WELFARE OFFICER

A County Welfare Officer is required to have primary responsibility for managing and reporting concerns about children and for putting into place procedures to safeguard children in the county structure, and supporting club welfare officers where relevant


This is a Voluntary position and will report to (but not sit on) the Board.


This role is for a period of 3 years with the option to stand for re-election for a further 3 years.
