Ladies' Amateur Championship

Catrin also won the Title in 2006, 2011, 2015 and now 2017!!

There were some good scores in the stroke play on Day 1 with the top 3 players scoring well. Kim Bradbury from Cavendish Golf club scored a total of 150 to finish in 1st place, Francesca Bougen from Glossop scored 152 to finish 2nd and Catrin Russell from Chevin scored 154 to finish 3rd. Debbie Deakin from Mickleover finished 4th overall with 166.

Kim Bradbury won the Trixie Pedley Salver for the best score over 36 holes.

Chevin Golf Club won the Team trophy for the best two scores over 36 holes with a score of 334.

Day 2 saw the 8 matches starting promptly at 9:00am. There was some great match play with some games very closely fought. Kim Bradbury, Jan Bilbie from Breadsall Priory, Alex Williams from Chesterfield, Debbie Deakin, Catrin Russell, Libby Harrison from Chevin, Beth Griffin from Horsley and Francesca Bougen all qualified for the quarter finals in the afternoon.

Two matches were very close finishing on the 17th hole. The winners from each match were Kim Bradbury, Debbie Deakin, Catrin Russell and Francesca Bougen.

Day 3- Once again they were very tight matches with the standard of play being very high. Kim won her match against Debbie on the 17th hole 3&1 and Catrin eventually won her match on the 19th hole! The spectators glued to every shot!

A hasty turn around at lunchtime and the Final commenced at 2.20pm. This was a very close match with Catrin taking a strong lead by the 13th hole, and eventually winning the final on the 15th hole. Both players deservedly were congratulated by the Officials and many spectators.
