Match Report Derbyshire v Staffordshire 14th July 2022

This was 2^nd home match, played at Burton on Trent Golf Club and we were very much looking for a win. Unfortunately for us Staffordshire had other ideas, fielding a very low handicap team. Despite our best efforts in the morning foursomes we were 3-0 down.

We knew we were up against it for the afternoon singles and it proved to be too much of an uphill struggle. Lesley Watson and Sandra Maxwell secured the 1 ½ points, well done both.

The Derbyshire squad saw a debut appearance for Summer Smith in the 2^nd team. Summer one of our County Juniors had only ever played handicap matches so did very well playing in both the morning and the afternoon sessions against very low handicap Staffordshire players.

We look forward To our next match at Bridgnorth on the 22^nd July.
