County Second Team Report
Derbyshire v Staffordshire at Brocton Hall Golf Club - Tuesday 13th July 2021
This was our first second team match, played at Brocton Hall Golf Club.
The Derbyshire squad had a couple of players who were making their debut appearance for the county. Janet Thomas, our County Captain, played in the morning foursomes and Grace Harrison took part in both morning and afternoon sessions.
Grace Harrison and Sandra Maxwell had a great 1up win in the foursomes, playing a pair whose home course was Brocton. The other two morning games did not quite go our way, so we went into the singles matches 2-1 down.
The singles, unfortunately, were not so close. Again, home course advantage was the deciding factor. Vice-Captain, Mel Prime, making a first appearance since 2016, won the only half point.
Staffordshire won 7 ½ to 1 ½
We look forward to our home match in August, all of us aiming for a different result.
